When to enter ihram

Put on your ihram clothes before you board. Make your intention when the crew announces the miqat, usually 30–40 minutes before landing in Jeddah. Your exact route decides the moment; follow the announcement.
Jeddah is inside the miqat boundary. Most scholars say air travellers must enter ihram before landing; some allow entering it in Jeddah when that is hard. Rifqa follows the majority view. Sahih al-Bukhari 1524, 1531; Sahih Muslim 1181
